Circle of Love Center hosted their 7th Annual Golf Tournament on September 13, 2021 at the beautiful Harbor Club on Lake Oconee. The day was filled with amazing weather, fun players, great prizes and generous sponsors and donors. In addition, the hard work and efforts of the Circle of Love Board of Directors, staff and volunteers did not go unnoticed.
Twenty-two teams participated in a 4-man scramble. Chick-Fil-A provided a hearty breakfast biscuit and PJ’s Coffee contributed the coffee to get the teams going. On the course, the competition mounted as Jimmy Britt Chevrolet sponsored a Hole-In-One prize of a new car lease. While the prize went unclaimed, the fun continued throughout the day as the golfers put in their best effort to win the tournament.
“Over the past year, domestic violence incidents have grown exponentially,” says Executive Director, Kimberly Bennett. “It was particularly encouraging and heartwarming to see so many people come out to support such an important cause.”
Circle of Love Center is an emergency shelter and resource center for domestic violence victims and their children. Monies raised during this event will go directly to the victims and children of domestic violence. Serving five counties; Greene, Morgan, Putnam, Hancock and Baldwin, donations will be used to help victims with 24-hour safe shelter, counseling services, legal advocacy, transportation, and other essential services and items needed to heal and move forward.
“Words cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for all those who participated to make this event a success,” says Bennett. “Because of the exceptional kindness and support of our volunteers, golfers, sponsors and donors, we can continue to provide life-changing services to our victims and children.”
